Toggle13. Find The Silver Lining
When your team comes up with an idea that seems weak, don’t dismiss it right away. Instead, encourage them to brainstorm and delve deeper into the concept. Find something positive about the idea and acknowledge it. Ask them to think about any criticisms they might have and how they would address them. This process challenges your employees to analyze their ideas more thoroughly. You never know, by doing this, you might uncover a brilliant idea for your next big project!
14. Find A Middle Ground
Embrace diplomacy and harmony as your main strategies. When faced with an idea that doesn’t align with your goals, avoid rejecting it outright, as it may discourage your team members from contributing further. Instead, find a middle ground. Be diplomatic and polite, acknowledging their idea without necessarily adopting it. When the majority of the team is moving in a specific direction, it’s likely the outlier will align as well, even if they initially thought their idea was superior. By using this approach, you can decline ideas gracefully and encourage your employees to continue sharing their thoughts, allowing you to weave them together in a way that best suits your needs.
